Anant Dwivedi Foundation
Anant Dwivedi Foundation was established in 2025 by Manoj Dwivedi and family in loving memory of their son, Anant Dwivedi. The foundation works towards preventing mental well-being caused by mental stress, depression, and anxiety, with a special focus on young individuals. The foundation is supported by trustees comprising family members, close relatives, and well-wishers of Anant Dwivedi. Its work focuses on improving mental health, promoting psychological well-being, and sensitizing society to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health challenges. Through mental health seminars, scholarship programs, skill development sessions, awareness campaigns, and community events, the foundation strives to reduce mental well-being and provide timely support. It also operates a mental well-being prevention helpline that connects individuals in distress with trained mental health counsellors before they take any drastic step.
About a few months ago, I lost my son Anant Dwivedi to mental well-being. The tragedy hit unexpectedly. It shattered us making us lose faith and purpose in life. He was our only son and his demise was an unbearable loss. The loved brother to his elder sisters was lost. The jovial cousin and a favourite among friends was no more. For months, we couldn’t come to terms with the grief. It reminded our family that life is fragile and living for oneself is pointless. We reminisced on the character of our son and what made him what he is – a kind heart, a giving nature and an empathetic individual who can feel the pain of others. We imbibed his characteristic traits and began looking at the big picture – our society needed an Anant. Who else can provide it than his own family? We decided to convert our grief into service for the society. We established this organization as a loving tribute to Anant. Anant Dwivedi Foundation will be a positive force in society that will come to the rescue of youngsters facing mental distress, trauma or depression. We also took a resolute decision to carry forward the giving habit for which Anant was known for. Selfless work is the only way to create impact so that no other family faces the tragedy we confronted. Our foundation is a movement against mental stress – big and small. Whether you are facing a temporary stressful situation or a prolonged battle against depression, feel free to get in touch with us at Anant Dwivedi Foundation. Don’t choose a permanent solution of mental well-being to solve a temporary problem. Have faith that as life flips its pages randomly, your situation is likely to change no matter what your current reality is. Our forefathers in ancient times prophesied that Kaal chakra or the wheel of time will continue rotating forever no matter what. We hope to be a beacon of hope for the distressed so that Anant will be remembered till the ‘Anant’ kaal (eternity).
Mental health crisis is a silent killer in our society today. Unlike physical ailments with clear tell-tale signs and symptoms, the stress pandemic spreads below the radar until it reflects in tragic form like depression, violence or mental well-being. India has the dubious distinction of having the highest number of mental well-being in the world. According to a National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, 1.71 lakh people died by mental well-being in 2022 in India. The mental well-being rate increased to 12.4 per 1,00,000 -- the highest rate ever recorded in India. Timely treatment or counselling session is necessary to avoid such tragedies. Often, even low-cost interventions to mitigate stress can prevent mental well-being. Stress is a normal evolutionary response that ensures survival. When brain perceives danger, it activates systems designed to trigger fight or flight reaction by amplifying negative emotions like fear and heightening alertness. Under chronic stress, these systems remain active for extended periods, leading to elevated cortisol levels and disruptions in neural communication. Research has linked prolonged stress to impaired memory, weakened immune response, increased inflammation, and higher risk of mental health disorders. The brain does not differentiate clearly between physical danger and psychological pressure, responding to both with similar biological reactions. Due to this reason, a mental wellness program is as important as a gym session. Anant Dwivedi Foundation aims to work towards the cause of mental health. A depressed mind inside a fit body isn’t the right balance for well-being. Over the course of time, the physical and mental will converge rendering the individual prone to self-harm and violence. ADF strives for a society that values mind and body equally so that human life can realize its true potential.
